PersuasiveCommunityManager

PersuasiveCommunityManager is a site I created to help myself and others navigate the fear of losing the people we care about. For me, the biggest fear was always the thought of losing the ones I love, whether through distance, misunderstandings, or life changes. Above all I’m a very angry and anxious person. This site offers advice, personal stories, and strategies to help me cope with these fears and turn them into a source of strength. I believe that by facing these fears, we can build deeper connections and grow stronger. In this site, I’m going to tell you about 2 careers I was lucky enough to discover at ForumHorizon, the resources related to fear, the link between my fear and the future career I’d like to pursue, and finally, I’ll give you some advice on how to overcome your fears.

  • Marketing professions and Designer graphic

    1. Marketing Professions

Dany explained the different sectors within marketing, such as product marketing, branding, and public relations, as well as the distinction between B2B (business-to-business) and B2C (business-to-consumer). It would have been helpful to have more concrete examples of how these strategies are implemented in real companies. For instance, examples of successful marketing campaigns in different contexts would have enriched the presentation. Dany mentioned his varied days but did not specify how these activities directly impact commercial results, which would have made the example more tangible.

Ophélie, on the other hand, discussed social media marketing and warned against scams related to « easy money. » This aspect was well explained, but more specific examples of situations where companies avoided these pitfalls would have provided a clearer understanding of the ethical challenges in the profession. She also emphasized the importance of staying informed about trends, but concrete illustrations of how to apply this advice would have made the presentation more insightful.

    2. Designer Graphic:

Graphic design was presented as a field where aesthetics blend with function, with designers creating visuals for brands, advertisements, and websites. The designer could have shared more practical examples of her work, showing how she approaches real projects with clients. This would have helped us better understand the challenges designers face daily.

The second designer shared his varied schedule, including time in the studio and freelance work, but did not explain in detail how he manages complex projects, such as deadlines or client relationships. Anecdotes from his experiences would have offered a clearer picture of the reality of the profession. He gave valuable advice on curiosity and patience, but concrete examples of situations where these qualities made a difference would have made the advice more impactful.

  • My anxiety and my anger in link with my future career

    1. Anxiety: The Fear of Distance

One of the strongest emotions I feel is anxiety — mostly linked to the fear that people will drift away from me or stop caring. This comes from my past experiences of abandonment, where I loved deeply but was left behind.

As a future Community Manager, this fear transforms into something else: I’m afraid that users or members of a community might feel ignored, misunderstood or left out. This fear pushes me to want to always be present, responsive, and caring. I think empathy and active listening will be essential tools to make sure no one feels “lost” — just like I never want to feel again.

    2. Anger: The Fear of Abandonment

Anger often shows up in me when I feel rejected or left aside — a reaction to the idea that someone is walking away. In my future career, I know I’ll sometimes receive negative feedback or deal with tense situations. That can trigger this anger.

But instead of reacting emotionally, I’m learning (slowly) to pause and reflect. Understanding that people’s reactions aren’t always personal helps me cool down. I don’t want to be a Community Manager who burns bridges — I want to be the kind that builds stronger ones, even in the middle of conflict.
