Dear future students

Advice I wish I had known at the start of high school,

If I had talked to more people at the beginning, I think it would have helped me feel better. Many students go through the same things and if I had shared my feelings, I would have seen that I wasn’t alone.

If I had trusted myself more, I would have believed that I was able to do well. When we give ourselves the chance and make the effort, we are stronger than we think.

I wish I had made a good revision plan from the beginning. If I had organized my time early, I would have avoided feeling stressed before exams. Planning helps to balance work and avoid last-minute pressure.

If I had asked for help earlier in the subjects I found hard, I wouldn’t have felt so lost. Getting support from a teacher, tutor or friend early on would have made things easier.

If I had taken better notes in class, I would have studied more easily later. Clear notes make revision simpler and faster.

If I had started working a little bit every week instead of waiting until the last minute, I would have been much less stressed.

If I had taken short breaks while studying, I would have stayed more focused and productive.

If I had talked to older students, I could have learned useful advice from their experiences.

And if I had used tools like flashcards or study apps, it would have helped me remember things more easily and stay organized.
