What I Wish I Knew Then
Unplug & Unwind
If I were to give you some advice, I would have told you to always keep a balance between work and relaxation. Taking breaks, whether alone or with friends, really helps to take the pressure off. Doing fun things like having a picnic, a barbecue, or going bowling could have done you a lot of good. These small, shared moments would have helped you recharge and deal with things better in the long run.

The second piece of advice is more about your career. If you don’t know what you want to do yet, that’s okay. A good place to start is by figuring out what you don’t like. That already helps you know which direction not to take. Also, take any opportunities that come your way. For example, if there’s an open house at a school you’re interested in, go visit it.

Around November, there’s also the « Salon des Métiers » (Career Fair), which has a lot of valuable information. Go to the stands that interest you and don’t hesitate to ask questions. Even if you’re scared, that’s okay what matters is that you try, and the people there are there to help you. There’s even a booth with career counselors who can give you guidance.
There’s also the « Forum Horizon, » but that’s usually just for second-year students. However, if you happen to have a day off for any reason, try to attend. There are conferences full of useful information, and you can even ask the speakers questions.
