  • Dear future students

If I could restart, I would change so many things in my routine to make me feel better and to make it easier.

    me

    • If I had started revising earlier, I wouldn’t have been so stressed before exams.
    • If I had managed my time better, I wouldn’t have been so late.
    • If I had slept more, I wouldn’t have had that many health problems.
    • If I had asked for help earlier, I wouldn’t have been that sad and exhausted.
    • If I had found my goals earlier, I might have been more motivated.
    • If I had eaten healthier meals, I would have had more energy.
    • If I had limited my phone use, I would have focused better during study sessions.
    • If I had communicated more with my teachers, I would have understood the material better.
    • Please do not forget that your mental health is the most important, don’t take too much if your brain can’t.

  • Ressources

We all have ressources to fight our fears !

First let me introduce you to…

The help you can use to fight your fears.

    • First you can talk to your parents, they can help you and try to better understand your own expectations and your fears. Usually, they are here to help you.
    • Then you can try to better organize yourself, you will have more and more exams, tests, and homework. If you don’t have organization, you will have so much stress, and we don’t need that.
    • You also need to take care of your self-esteem, if you came here, that is because you can, you are strong, you are amazing.
    • You can talk to a psychologist here in the Gymnase of Bussigny we have an amazing one, she helped me, and she will help you.
    • You can also talk to the dean, he is adorable and so understanding. He helped me and I know he can also help you if you need help.
    • You also have your friends and even the other students who sometimes understand some classes better than you and who can help you.
    • Hopefully, you also have some learning tools like: Quizlet, ChatGPT, PhotoMath etc. Those are my saviors, and they helped me so much during my school days.

    And don’t forget …

Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.

  • Jobs ?

Honestly, I’m very indecisive in life but even more about my future, I changed my mind I don’t know how many times. At first, I wanted to be a singer, then a lawyer, then a criminologist, then a doctor and right now I don’t even know. When I entered the second year of CCI, I became more interested in the opportunities I have with my option. But obviously that depends on what you like. I know that I love teamwork, English, and social work. That’s why I’m more interested in the job of social media manager and marketing.

Thanks to my English teacher my class had the opportunity to go to the forum horizon. The forum horizon is a salon in the University of Lausanne “UNIL” where we can go watch conferences about different jobs and Schools and studies.

I saw a lot of conferences but the one that I discovered and that I liked the most was the social media manager’s conference. I already had the chance to do an internship in marketing the year before, because I repeated a year.

Those jobs are so interesting and plus linked to communication and information.

Marketing and social media management have advantages and disadvantages like:

    Marketing’s advantages

    • Creative work
    • Different roles
    • Career growth opportunities
    • Teamwork
    • Network
    • Good salary

    Marketing’s disadvantages

    • Hard to find a job
    • Salary can be lower
    • A lot of information that you need to simplify
    • Sometime the budget is low
    • The language can be an obstacle
    • You also need to travel sometimes

    Social media management’s advantages

    • Creative work
    • Flexible Work Options
    • Direct Impact on Brand Growth
    • Networking
    • Learning Opportunities

    Social media management’s disadvantages

    • High Pressure
    • Unpredictable Hours
    • Constant Need for Creativity
    • Negative Feedback
    • Metrics Pressure
    • Platform Dependence

But jobs depend on what you like and who you are, so you can use this as an example or an inspiration. But you need to figure it out by yourself. My teacher always says,  » don’t forget you’re beautiful and amazing  » and that’s true you will find who you are.

  • My fears

Behind our backpacks we are human, we all have personal problems, fears and sometimes we feel like we don’t have resources but it’s not true. We do have resources, but we just need to think of the problem before and find it. Thanks to my English teacher we had the chance to discover our fears and to work on it. I personally have a lot of fears and problems but two of them became clearer to me. The fear of disappointing my family and my fear of failing. And if you have the same problem I could maybe help.

    Disappointing my family

I think this fear started when I was around 11 years old—though I can’t be sure. One of my cousins had completed a master’s degree and started earning a lot of money, which really helped our family. Since then, I felt this growing pressure to live up to that example.

During my second year of CCI, I began to reflect more deeply on this fear. I realized that the fear of disappointing my family is tied to many things, including how I see my own social status.

You don’t know me personally, but I don’t mind sharing a little about myself. I am the firstborn daughter, the first granddaughter, the first niece, the eldest sister and cousin—all in a traditional Albanian and Muslim family. Honestly, I’m proud of my roots: my culture, my beliefs, and my family. But I also know that, in many ways, my success feels decisive. I don’t feel like I have the option to fail.

This has created a huge amount of pressure—both from my family and from myself. I want to succeed, not only for them, but also for me. That’s why I’ve been searching for ways to deal with this pressure, to better understand it, and to use it as motivation instead of fear.

    Fear of failing

This fear goes with the fear of disappointing my family. But it’s not just about failing, it’s also about how I see myself. I set high expectations, and sometimes I feel like no matter what I do, it’s never enough. That’s where my low self-esteem comes in. I doubt myself; I overthink every decision, and I constantly compare myself to others. I think that is linked to my self-esteem, because I have a very bad one honestly

When I start something new, I’m scared of failing, because of that I procrastinate. But I’m learning that failing doesn’t make me a failure. Every mistake is a lesson. Every fear is a challenge I can grow from.

But even though I tried, I still can’t stop comparing myself to others and I still can’t be proud of myself. I know that I’am just as capable than the others, but something in my head tells me otherwise. But sadly, that is something that I can’t change without changing my self-esteem, but I made a promise to myself. I can change and I know I can, and I will.
