  • How to understand your fear (Article 1)

    A surfer enjoys the calm ocean at sunset.
    For the first project. We had to do a project on the different fears we have for the future. And a lot of people had fears about their future jobs. 

    Personally, I wondered whether my job would give me enough money to live well. So, we looked at where our fear came from and how we could manage it better. 

    For me, I think this fear comes from my lifestyle standards. I\’ve always found certain things essential. Like the environment, but also material and immaterial goods. These are important things for me, and not all jobs allow for this kind of expenditure. I\’ve accepted this fear; it gives me the strength to achieve my goals. Without these deep-seated desires, I wouldn\’t be the same person. This fear is positive as long as it doesn\’t encroach on our psyche. To alleviate it, I can rely on certain tools such as sport, meditation or even intellectual development.  

    All these things help us to grow personally and to be proud of ourselves. Which means we don\’t have to worry about our future. They give me confidence for future events. Here\’s my advice for feeling better, and for being more serene about our professional and personal choices.

  • Find your job (Article 2)

    For the second project. We had to look for a future job that would appeal to us. In particular, we went to Forum Horizon to find out about new careers. 

    I spent a lot of time finding out about different careers. And it was very rewarding. The two jobs that caught my eye the most were hotel worker and businessman. I particularly like these two careers and their presentations confirmed my thoughts.
     
    The first job is hotel worker. I think that the world of beautiful hotels is incredible and commands respect. I only really discovered this job recently, even though I knew the basics. It requires a lot of rigour and discipline. The hours are long and intense. But the constant quest for perfection gives meaning to our job. As well as looking after our customers and showing a warm welcome. It\’s a quest that gives us meaning and allows us to achieve complete fulfilment despite the difficult tasks.
      
    The second profession is businessman. By this term I mean certain professions in business. The world of business has always intrigued and interested me. Some jobs are interesting, such as entrepreneur, because you can set up your own business. However, I don\’t like jobs like accountancy because I find them repetitive and boring. There are lots of jobs in business and you must choose what you want to do. The world of business is quite vast, and it all depends on the job and the company.
