Resources

Based on my personal experience, I’ve been able to experiment with several things and I’m going to give you the best resources that have worked for me.

To talk about fears, anxiety and all the emotions we can feel, sport is something that has helped me enormously. Choose a sport that appeals to you and give it a try. You can choose something that’s done in a team, alone, indoors, outdoors and so on. The choice is enormous and there you’ll have the opportunity to clear your mind, focus on things other than your daily worries and even gain confidence in yourself. I can also advise you to write. Write down everything that’s on your mind, everything that’s working on you. Putting it all down on paper is sometimes a good way of freeing yourself and letting it out.

Let’s talk about our career. At the start of my second year, I had no idea what I was doing there or what I wanted to do later on. Then I went to the Horizon Forum. A series of conferences on a whole range of professions. I chose four of them to attend and that’s how I found my dream job. Going to the careers advisor also gave me a few pointers.

I was a bit scared at first, and also a bit lazy. But I had to go. So I wrote down a list of questions that he answered, giving me some pointers. He answered all my questions, clarifying a lot of important points for me. So if you’re lost too, don’t be lazy, don’t wait until the last moment and start researching. Having a goal and knowing what you want to do is a great motivator.
